Hinotes Boost

Description

The Hinotes Boost is Antifōn Audio's answer to the question: "What would it sound like if a Hiwatt DR103 and MXR Micro Amp had a love child?" First, the Hinotes Boost boosts the internal voltage range to ~26V giving your guitar signal huge headroom. This also changes the attack of the guitar signal, making the guitar more responsive under your fingers. The frequency response is modelled after the Hiwatt DR103, meaning if you like David Gilmour tones, you will love this pedal. The Hinotes Boost also sounds wonderful for jazz or funk because, depending on the settings, it really just amplifies your existing guitar signal without colouring it too much, closer to an amp than a pedal in its sound.

• GAIN

  The GAIN control also serves as the volume control, just like the MXR Micro Amp. This fixes the circuit's output impedance allowing the guitar signal to be boosted more cleanly and reliably, preserving your tone through your cables and other pedals in the signal chain.

• TREBLE

  Boosts or attenuates the treble and presence frequencies.

• MIDS

  Boosts or attenuates the mid frequencies. Like the Hiwatt DR103, it is relatively restrained in its frequency response for this part of the spectrum, never getting too "honky" or distorted, focusing more on the lower mids (i.e., ~420Hz).

• BASS

  Boosts or attenuates deep bass response down to ~20Hz. It adds a wonderful thump that does not clip any transients or get too "mushy", thanks to the high headroom of the circuit.
