Antifōn Audio: Analog Evolved

In music, an Antifōn is a call and response—an artistic conversation. We believe the history of analog circuit design follows this same rhythm.

Great guitar pedal effects respond to what came before. When the MXR Distortion+ arrived, it set the bar for musical clipping. The ProCo RAT answered that call, evolving the topology with a tone control and an output buffer: same but different. Antifōn Audio studies the "calls" of the past to provide our own modern "answers," refining and expanding tools that shape music.

Extended Range Circuits with Discrete Design

We specialize in extended range, discrete, old-school analog design. Our circuits are heavily influenced by vintage solid-state amps, pedals, preamps, mixing boards, and studio-grade compressors.

By focusing on discrete components rather than off-the-shelf solutions, we have control over every component that touches your signal. Even our IC circuits are never mere clones: we always add our own mods that are either carefully curated or else invented ourselves. It's more work, but "reinventing the wheel" allows us to explore different sonic territories while respecting tradition, so even our fresh sounds still feel right in your signal chain.

Tools to Channel Music

Technical precision must serve art. We build tools that musicians love to play because when an instrument's sound feels good, obstacles between players and their creativity disappears.

When you enjoy the sounds you make, the music finds you.

Hand-Built in Toronto

Every Antifōn pedal is designed, soldered, and assembled by hand in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are a small-scale family operation dedicated to the craft of analog building, ensuring that every unit that leaves our bench is a worthy addition to the ongoing evolution of tone.
